What People Are Saying about Investment U and Dr. Steve Sjuggerud

Newsletter marketers love to hype their products. But if you’re like us, you want outside verification that an idea or recommendation will work in the real world.

At Investment U, we pride ourselves on being advocates for our readers – and we consider their testimonials the ultimate confirmation that, yes, we’re getting the job done.

Here are a few examples of recent, unsolicited letters we’ve received from our readers that reveal the kinds of investment opportunities you’ll receive with your free subscription to the Investment U E-Letter

“Great practical advice in a digestible-length feature. I have tried hard to get friends to forget the multi-thousand dollar forex software purchases and just learn the basics using solid information like The Investment U newsletter. Keep up the good work…”
“For businessmen like myself its a great asset. I usually download the latest e-letters to my Laptop prior to my check-in at Airports on many of my business travels. I spend an hour or so at the Captain’s Lounge reading the latest Investment U e-letter.”
“Would not miss it for anything in the world, not because I always agree with you, but because you make me think hard. The newsletter is a heaven sent. Thank you.”
“I am new to the business, age 27… I must say – ever since I have been hooked. Not only does this in your face writing bring the information ‘point blank’ to my brain, it also makes fiscal sense. My father and I do mostly pension and retirement strategies mostly what a ‘series 6′ can aquire – ever since opening your first email both of us have changed our investment attitude and preachings.”
“Short, smart and to the point. Approach sticks to its principles and has a more positive but conservative viewpoint than many “panic” letters that try to get the reader worked up to buy something. Good work!”
A great source of independant thinking, to heck with the crowd, keep it up. One big problem; Dr. Steve’s recommendations are not always appropriate to Canadian investors, especially with regard to the currency, who wants to buy US dollars in order to invest, unless you are extremely contrarian? Secondly, I cannot easily buy US mutual funds. It would be good if these issues were dealt with to the extent possible in True Wealth recommendations.
It is educational and provides a sideways glance for me into a huge domain of dynamics of which I plan to enter into sometime in the next two to three years. The e-letter reads like a pulse. It’s active, vital language has enough substance that I don’t feel I’m reading too much fluff. If I may make a suggestion, I would say that your letter could become even more education by introducing links to journal articles for those who want a deeper level of understanding. While I realize you do an excellent job of referring readers to other analysts whose job is to write the higher-level language and build the bridge from economic theory to practical application, I don’t think it would hurt at all to provide reading selections. Readers can simply pass over them and not even notice if they’re not interested. Psychologically speaking, people build a greater bond of loyalty to those who make them think without realizing it. By thinking alongside those with more experience, the motivation to act becomes a stronger force. I do this in my work every day and it works. My clients act because our conversations motivate them to act. So, although I personally cannot act for another two years or so, I can tell you that Investment U will become a favored source of information and thought, and trust as I can think alongside and trust those who are making recommendations…In addition, it provides a great PR vehicle (my former career). Investment U can expand its influence as its material becomes more substantive and can be quoted elsewhere. I think your PR people would agree. I used to hang out with Ted Nelson, the author of Literary Machines and The Home Computer Revolution, the guy that coined the term, “hyperlink.” He is the designer of the legendary “Xanadu” project in information science. Anyway, Ted’s vision was of documents with commentary attached to them. This was an excellent vehicle for academic writers which was his milieu. Since your audience are educated people, I’m certain they would appreciate the opportunity to read on the more abstract levels and swing back into the practical applications of those. Thank you for the opportunity to make this feedback.
