 Steven Sarnoff is founder and president of the research firm Sarnoff's Samurai Strategies, Inc., based in San Diego. Mr. Sarnoff pioneered the use of the Japanese candlestick charting technique to accurately predict price movement of stocks and commodities. After the first English translation appeared in 1987, he immersed himself in the study of "candlesticks," learned to unlock the powerful information they provide and became the foremost U.S. expert on their use. Steve Sarnoff has been called "the master of candlesticks" by Richard Russell, publisher of his Dow Theory Letters since 1958.
Steve Sarnoff has been a guest on the Market Talk radio show and has been quoted in Barron's. He has a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Idaho and has experience on the floor of the Commodity Exchange (Comex) in New York, as well as working as a stock and commodities broker with Dean Witter in La Jolla, Calif. He previously was creator and editor of the Samurai Gold Forecaster. In 1995, he teamed with his father-author, researcher and legendary options expert Paul Sarnoff-as co-editor of Options Hotline. In 1999 Steven Sarnoff took the reigns as solo editor and has continued the successful tradition of picking option winnners week in and week out for Options Hotline subscribers.
