Scott Trade has 204 branch offices nationwide. They are mostly an online brokerage firm but do have some traditional accounts as well. They deal mostly with USA customers. They have won the JD Powers and Associates Award for superior customer service the last 4 years running.

This company has one goal-low transaction costs-and it succeeds. All trading is done online. As a result, E*Trade offers no extras. It is fairly slow, and the brokers-should you ever need to speak with one-are not as experienced as elsewhere. They merged with Brown & Company in 2006.

Fidelity Investments
Fidelity has over 60 branch offices in major cities throughout the US. Fidelity competes with Schwab in the high fee department, but it also offers excellent automated transactions and can obtain stocks that are difficult to get at most lower-priced brokerages.

Despite being the most expensive discounter, Charles Schwab has a lot to offer: 24 hour service, the ability to buy on many overseas exchanges, the best selection of the industry’s best-performing no-load mutual funds and excellent automated service. Schwab also has over 200 branches in major US cities.
