The Post-Thanksgiving Effect: Big Gains in the Week Ahead?

by Robert Williams, Publisher
Thursday, November 26, 2009

First off, the Investment U team would like to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. I’m fortunate enough to be spending the day with my sisters in Los Angeles. And I’m hopeful that you’re with family and friends, as well.

That said, I want to quickly put something on your radar…

Our analysts have measured the market’s performance in the week following Thanksgiving and found a noteworthy trend.

As the chart indicates, the post-Thanksgiving market has performed well over the last several years, making enormous moves in the last two years. We believe the trend can continue in earnest this year.

So load up on turkey (or whatever) today. Relax over the long weekend. And be ready to hit the trail again on Monday.

Ahead of the tape,
