I DO NOT accept the government handouts! And just because YOU CHOSE TO, do not think for one minute YOU (or the gov’t) have the right to FORCE me to do something against my will!

The things you list above can ALL be paid for WITHOUT imposing a so called “Income Tax”…

To say “Our nation would not be a strong as it is without taxes”… is a pathetic statement akin to “The government knows better than you do what to do with your money”! Your comment leads me to believe that you are just simply a socialist. The fact is that the founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they saw what “we” have done to “OUR COUNTRY”!

The FACT is, they would NEVER condone our military as it is today! Thomas Jefferson did not even want an army, only a militia! And most importantly, they NEVER wanted (except for Hamilton) a central bank as they saw it as a means to siphon off our wealth!

I DO NOT advocate “anarchy”! Far from it…

I want us to adhere to the Constitution and for the people to be left alone! The LIMITED form of government the founders established and envisioned is what I want… As they did!!

I accept the burdens and benefits of paying taxes and have little patience with those who do not, There is not a day that goes by that I do not benefit from tax dollars including military and police protection, transportation, education, retirement income, health care, regulatory agencies to protect my welfare, etc. Our nation would not be a strong as it is without taxes. Sure, there is wasted money but the concept of paying taxes and receiving benefits from that is an overall positive. If you want anarchy, please go somewhere else.

The IRS has cracked down on this item as well.

Formerly, payors of muni bond interest did not need to report the amount paid to the IRS. This reporting loophole has been closeds, just as stock basis for capital gains reporting will also be reported to the IRS in 2010.

So you don’t pay the State income tax on the interest earned of the Municipal Bond (e.g. California MB) but you must still pay the Federal Income tax on it, is it right?

Very interesting and honest to God sincere.One important data is have the munis failed,I mean got deferred on due dates or interest restructured to align with falling fed rates.some simple analysis will be comforting.The risk/ reward profile needs more elaboration when one thinks of 7% return and tax free at times like these

Your artical was informative,”if”, you actually beleive that as an American Citizen, you are require to pay taxes commonly referred to as “Income Tax.” Have you actually read the “LAW” in the Tax Code that requires anyone to pay Inome Tax? If you ask thisquestion of any IRS Official, their answer will be the old standby, “The qoestion is frivilous.” Not one individual has ever seen or read the “LAW” requiring anyone to “PAY” income Tax. WHY? because there is no such law in the TAX CODE. ASK, FIND it! Its simply not there. If this is so why do so many people pay? Simple, when you sign a W4 you “volunteer” to pay. I challenge anyone to show me the chapter, article of law that requires an individual to pay tax. I would love to see this “LAW.” so show it to me! There are thousands who have challenged this “LAW” and won the arguement! It simply is not in the code!
