Great answer, Erika. It galls me to hear the false
claims of the management, CEO's,etc. who say they
are the generators of WEALTH. No matter what com-
pany you select, the product of that company which
is sold to provide the profits which the corpor-aation then deals off to management and investers,
is made by the workers who are the true creators of wealth, yet receive miniscule bonuses, if any. It is the same tired refrain of the wealthy and
powerful who have controlled the financial sys-tem for the past 150 years.

Maybe the salvation for stock investors, from the rape we are enduring by CEO's and boards that promote them, is for the entire Wallstreet system to fail. Diogenes, with his little lantern, must be very tired from walking along Wall Street looking for that honest man. Like the song says, "He's not there..."

Where are the institutional and mutual fund directors who control and vote large blocks of stock? Oh, I forgot, they are also raping the investing public with THEIR fee structures. Gabelli and the rest are billionaires, but do they ever lower their fees? As to the executive compensation, the boards of director have forgotten who are the real owners.

IT isn't the amount of compensation that bothers me as much as "Big Brother" dictating what it should be.The government has no business in executive pay compensation?

Great article but why did it not say to vote AGAINST all directors listed on the proxy statement. After all, the CEO and directors depend upon each other for these outlandish amounts of money

I would suggest top management pay brackets to consist of a basic salary, say 10 to 15 times lowest worker pay, plus 1% of the INCREASE in share value during the year. (10 million shares, up 1 penny in value, $1000 compensation. Loss in value should carry over to next year to be recovered before determining compensation.)

I entirely agree with the findings. It would be helpful if the executive comparison chart was published periodically in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal and other popular "economics" newspapers so the public can be forewarned about the pirates on Wall Street.

The major problem is the U.S. corporate structure.Nobody has any control over the guy at the top unless a Buffet is on the board. Often the CEO is on the board and he picks the board members who often are his buddies and usually don't rock the boat.In Europe the shareholders select a supervisory board and the CEO is chosen by the board and he is responsible to them. Also I am utterly disgusted about the total lack of responsibility of the guys at the top. They are not that important. It is the employees that make the company and they should be involved in corporate governance as well. There are a few notable exceptions but not nearly enough of them.
