The AUD had alwyas been close to CAD in value. But here's the thing you don't know. the people in Australia has higher quality of life than people in US. They earn 15 dollars minimun wage while US is oly 8 bucks. Housing is relatively the same, food a tad bit more expensive but not by a lot.

As a tax payer in both Canada and America I don't agree that taxes are higher in Canada. Compare capital gains and property taxes in the two countries. Sales tax in most of the provinces also compare favorably against many states.

Currency War!!!

Here is why the US Dollar is appreciating. There is a currency devaluation war going on. The Fed is buying up US Treasuries for Christ sake!!! Its called QE2 soon to be QE3!?!? This is flooding other markets with US Dollars thus causing a threat of deflation in other nations. What do those nations have to do??? Print monies to buy up US Dollars!?!?!?

The dollar keeps going up and so does SILVER and GOLD as the both continues to make higher floors. This is contrarian to everone's point of view. The only thing that makes sense is the world is a mess. The Dollar may be strong but is it really strong, or just no least ugly in a room full of ugly people. Therefore by default the dollar gets stronger. Remeber the yen has a strong dollar and an L SHAPPED RECOVERY. How can we really have a strong dollar. The dow is breaking down and most money is on the sidelines. I sure don't know and I DON'T THINK MANY OF US, BECAUSE WHATEVER MODEL YOU HAVE BEEN RELYING ON, THROW IT AWAY AND THE BOX IT COMES IN. a once in several generations world economy. Why are all world goverments increasing their gold holdings and when the IMF DUMPS OUR HOLDINGS IT IS QUICKLY SCOOPED UP. We had a correction down to 1046? and a quick rebound. GOLD is now being bought in europe like their is no tomorrow. The numismatics are just now in the early stage of a bull market. Please reply.

"The Dollar still just keeps falling like a rock"? Really? Do you even follow the exchange rates, Ralph? When I was in Frankfurt this past January, I was paying $1.45 and more for euros. Today the euro trades at $1.27. Seems to me it's the euro that is falling: it's down over 12% in four months.
